Geomancy, Sacred Spaces & Specialty Gardens
Geomancy is an ancient art that focuses on fostering a deep and mutually healing relationship between humans and the earth through the creation of meaningful/sacred spaces. Indigenous cultures worldwide have created monuments based on these principals for centuries. Stonehenge, Bighorn Medicine Wheel, the Great Pyramids and Zen Gardens are a few well-known examples. These principles can be integrated into any project or used to create specialty gardens such as:

  ~Sacred Spaces
  ~Solar Calendars
  ~Labyrinths
  ~Herbal/Medicinal Gardens
  ~Edible Landscapes
  ~Japanese/Zen gardens
  ~Native Plantscapes
  ~Wildlife-Friendly Gardens
  ~Sculpture Gardens

The sun spiral logo (designed and trademarked by Jeff Thibodeau) is intended to represent the infinite reach of the spiral, the warmth and brightness of the sun and the balance of yin and yang. The word Helios comes from the name of the Greek Sun God.

Helios, the sun god of the ancient Greeks, was usually represented riding a chariot which was drawn by four, often winged, horses. His chariot rose daily into the heavens from the east and after blazing across the sky plunged into the western sea, thus bringing on the night. The sun's brilliant light emanated from the fiery crown that adorned Helios' head.

Helios made the fruits of the earth ripen and, similar to the Roman God Apollo, was associated with music, the arts, archery, healing, prophecy and light.

The statue of Helios known as the 'Colossus of Rhodes", completed in 292 B.C., was one of the wonders of the ancient world. Helios was represented with a crown of sun-rays, a spear in his left hand and a flaming torch held aloft in his right. Less than a century after its completion (in 224 BC), an earthquake destroyed the statue and it was never again erected. Descriptions of this ancient statue inspired the design of the Statue of Liberty. The rays emanating from the head of Helios may have inspired the well-known Sunburst pattern.
