In my mind, there is nothing which lacks divine purpose
and my music celebrates that. I am passionately in love
with life in all its wonderfully varied manifestations -
the infinitely beautiful earth and her creatures, people
of all kinds who constantly share their hearts and minds
with me, and everything life is and can be.
I was raised on Cape Cod and developed a profound love and respect
for the awesome beauty and wisdom of Nature/God. This
place, and the love of my parents and friends, has
taught me much about life, myself and what it means to
truly love. My songs usually emerge when I am feeling
that love - when I am feeling at one with myself and my
world.
The images I work with in my songwriting recognize pain
and pleasure, earth and heaven, and body and spirit as
fundamentally related polarities of life. It is in the
balanced center of these opposites, that unity, harmony,
and fulfillment are found. Because I believe that love
is the source of all things and all things have a divine
purpose, my
lyrics carry a positive message even when depicting a
painfully human experience.
Song is a voice of the soul which, when shared, opens a
doorway for connecting deeply with each other and the
world. Each person and each thing "sings their song"
when they follow their heart, doing what they are meant
to do, and being who they are meant to be with passion. Like the
endless birdsong that circles the earth with the
sunrise, I wish for my music to be a true expression of
what it is that gives me life, an expression
of who I am and how I experience the world. It is
also a prayer that we may all find the music of our
souls and sing our songs in harmony with everything we
are and everything we do.
I was trained in classical piano as a child and played
piano for my high school chorus. In college I bought a
guitar so I could carry my instrument with me and wrote
my first song. Since then, I have written many more and performed both originals and covers in
various incarnations including solo, duo and rock band
performances working primarily as lead singer, rhythm guitarist
and occasional bassist and keyboardist. I am currently recording
rough cuts of
original tunes and hope to have demo songs
available for download later this year. Check out the
